The Hispanic Bar Association of Austin sponsored its 22nd Annual Kids Holiday Party for thirty children in ten different families that participate in the Communities in Schools program through the Travis County Youth and Family Assessment Center. Thanks to the generosity of numerous HBAA members who sponsor a child for Christmas, we provided gifts for each of the children from their “wish list.”

The Hispanic Bar Association of Austin (HBAA) sponsored its annual Thanksgiving Basket Project in conjunction with the South Austin Neighborhood Center again this year on November 25th and 26th. As it has done for the past 17 years, HBAA provided 60 families with turkeys and canned and fresh foods for their Thanksgiving meal.

HBAA is proud to have been a participant in the first Hispanic Organizations Working Together as One (HOWTO) Community Leadership Summit held on June 23, 2013. Attendees learned from distinguished speakers about topics affecting the Greater Austin, and discussed ways that HOWTO could become involved in these issues to have a positive impact on the community.
