Congratulations to the winners of the 2018 Draylen Mason Memorial Essay Competition!

Winners were selected for their outstanding essays answering the question, "What is the most important legal issue facing your community and what can be done to make a difference?" Each winner received a laptop computer and was invited to attend the 2018 Hispanic Heritage Luncheon.

The annual HBAA essay contest encourages middle school students in majority-minority schools to think about higher education and a career in law. This year, the HBAA chose to rename the essay competition the Draylen Mason Memorial Essay Competition, in honor of the 2013 essay competition winner whose life was tragically cut short earlier this year.
